Yuichi Kudo (Jazz Pianist)

Born in Saitama, Japan, Yuichi Kudo began playing the electone as a child
and studied the trumpet and horn in primary and middle school.
He developed an interest in classical orchestration and jazz and taught
himself to compose and arrange. He later began to play the piano, and
studied composition with Kenzou Egashira while enrolled in the music
department of Utsunomiya Junior College.

After working as a Yamaha electone instructor he began performing as a
professional jazz pianist in 1997. In 2002 he joined the jazz group Espaco,
led by bassist Tatsuo Yanagihara. He also began working with the accordionist
Miyack, composing music and performing a variety of genres including tango
and Finnish folk music.

In 2003 he formed his own trio and released his first album as a leader, The Sky,
in 2005.

In 2006 he released his second album, Sleeping Woods.

In addition to playing jazz as a soloist, with his trio and in other
groups, he performs chansons and classical music and also teaches piano.
He has just released his third album [ Birth -Longing For Sweden- ]  in March.
